Review Nature Fairies

Oh my goodness, "Nature Fairies: You'll Be the Death of Me" was such a captivating read! Going in, I had a tiny bit of apprehension – after enjoying "Death Fairies," I worried this prequel might feel like a step back. But Victoria Liiv completely blew those worries away. This book is fantastic, and absolutely must be read before "Death Fairies" to fully appreciate the depth of the story and the characters.

The writing is just beautiful. Liiv has such a talent for creating vivid imagery and immersing you in the world of the Belfean Courts. The glossary was a truly thoughtful addition; it’s so helpful in navigating the rich and unique terminology, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this fantastical realm. I particularly loved the descriptions of the forest – it felt so alive, so dangerous, yet also breathtakingly beautiful.

Siya, our disowned nature fairy princess, is such a compelling character. Her quiet strength, her unwavering dedication to her daughter and the injured animals under her care, immediately drew me in. She's not your typical strong female lead, but her grace and resilience are far more powerful. Then there’s King Grath, the formidable leader of the Death Court. The tension between them is palpable from the very first encounter – it's a delicious mix of danger and forbidden attraction. Their relationship is so complex, a whirlwind of love, lust, guilt, protection, and, let's be honest, a healthy dose of mutual stupidity. But it's their shared vulnerabilities and undeniable chemistry that truly shine. The way their story unfolds, with its inherent risks and challenges, is heart-stoppingly romantic.

I also adored getting a glimpse into the early days of Kar and Isay, the protagonists of "Death Fairies." Seeing their initial, rather… explosive, meeting added a whole new layer to their already fascinating relationship. It was a fun peek behind the curtain, providing context and foreshadowing for their future.

The plot itself is a thrilling ride. The desperate situation of the Death Court, the forbidden nature of Siya and Grath’s connection, the ever-present danger lurking in the Ferranti Forest – it all kept me on the edge of my seat. I was constantly wondering what would happen next, utterly captivated by the unfolding events.

This isn't just a romance; it's a story about survival, sacrifice, and the delicate balance between life and death, light and shadow. Liiv masterfully weaves together these elements, creating a narrative that is both intense and deeply moving.

Honestly, I can't recommend this book enough. If you're looking for a dark fantasy romance filled with compelling characters, breathtaking world-building, and enough sizzling tension to set your Kindle on fire, then "Nature Fairies" is an absolute must-read. Four stars, easily! Five stars for the glossary alone! And as for the spice… well, let's just say it’s deliciously dangerous. I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment to see how Siya and Grath’s story continues, and to delve further into the world of the Belfean Courts.
